When I was 15 I got interested in bikes...and the first movie I saw was EASY RIDER. I INSTANTLY FELL IN LOVE WITH CHOPPERS AND RIDING ACROSS COUNTRY. I WANTED TO DO EXACTLY WHAT BILLY AND WYATT DID. Just AIM THE BIKE AND TWIST THE THROTTLE AND GO. Well here I am 55 and am still searching for that time when I can do that. It seems that after high school came work and then marriage and children. And now after the wife is dead and the kids are all grown up. I must keep working to keep a roof over my head. I have two bikes. But they are in need of quite a bit of repair. And somehow the money just isn't there and now I hear that the man that helped make the movie that started me on my life of motorcycles is dead. I FEEL REALLY SAD. To me it feels as though part of that dream has died too. I have to wonder if I'll ever get to JUST GO. I know that it was just a movie. But somehow I felt as though a SPIRIT was born in me the spirit of freedom...like "BILLY SAID" WHAT THE HELL'S WRONG WITH FREEDOM THAT'S WHATS IT ALL ABOUT" and "GEORGE" said those immortal words...it's hard to be free when you're bought and sold in the marketplace" R.I.P DENNIS HOPPER
