Home Build Chopper

I have no idea how to build a chopper but for last two passed years I have seen all TV shows to build a chopper like American Chopper, British Biker Build off, 105 weeks to build a Harley etc. I am enclosing my new made chopper here with my story.

I am a big fan of custom bikes. When I saw TV shows I always thought that some day I will make my own chopper with out any help of mechanic. I bought a 125 cc old bike its (enticer by Yamaha). I started work on it. It was a very great experience to build a bike your self. After making the bike what I found that the shape of the bike was not right it looked like an Enfield (bullet) bike. Even the rear tire is looking very ugly, as it was very thin.

Then I cut all bike chassis (frame) took the engine separate and made a new frame it was Thompson frame. I didn’t have the right size to build the frame only I had some pictures of frames on papers. I started work without dimensions. Actually I was very passionate about my bike so I worked hard and had some knowledge from the TV shows so that I managed to build a frame. After completion of frame I put the Yamaha engine in between the frame and make it weld properly. I didn’t have the broad rear tire and the alloy rim. I went in the junkyard market and found a car's alloy (3spoke) and purchase a 185/13 no car tire from the market for my bike.

After purchasing the all-necessary things I managed to build a chopper. Now the bike is in my home with out the paint on it. As the engine is not suitable for the rear tire I made some duplicate arrangements for the chain set. I made a small two bearing motor to drive the rear wheel. The first chain is coming from the engine to the motor and the second chain is from the motor to the rear tire. The chain is removed automatically when bike gets speed that is only my problem and as well as the frame is also not in good shape.

Well I built a chopper from scratch with NO chopping experience. It turned out better then I could have ever hoped! A true Harley Bobber. Bad to the bone. Thé only advise I'd give you is that I'd talk to someone that has building experience. Remember your ass is riding on that thing! A car wheel and tire won't cut it.

love ur work man
by: machinemale

hello i love ur work and passion man
because this is only way to built a real chopper
that u give ur everything to it
i can understand because i m too crazy about chopping and spended over one year in building my bike its a cruise with enfield engine and rear tire & rim of sumo .
regarding ur problem u should align the sprokets properly and reduce the rear wheel weight for getting initial pik up as ur engine is too week for 185 wide tire.
dont think i am just suggesing and having no ex about it
for ur infor i m running three workshops in auto industry my brand name is machinemale

about chain
by: Anonymous

well about that chain that keeps coming off, take a rod you know is straight and make sure it is a straight shot from the rear sprocket to the front sprocket, make sure the sprockets are square to each other, that could be why it wont stay on, or it could be too lose,

You look like you know what you want out of your bike. Don't stop, keep going on building because you will only get better. The bike you got is looking very cool. I like it. It's the back street choppers that i like the most. Yea the custom built choppers on OCC are cool but we all dont have toys they got. but when you take a stock bike and transform it into a chopper like what you are doing, I get a kick out of that. keep up the good work. I would love to see it when it's done.
