Bike building and where to start

Hi Mazz

I am a student at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology in South Africa and I would also like to start a similar project with my fellow students and a few friends, but because there are not many custom bike builder in Cape Town I do not know how to begin. We have had meeting where we discussed the building of beach cruise bicycles but because we are studying mechanical engineering it is not enough of a challenge to attract many students. I was wondering whether you would like to make your projects international? or if you know of similar universities or schools that have started with the same type of project. The students at my university are very innovative and are always seeking challenges and a bike build is both interesting and because of where I am very challenging.
