Bought a 1999 1200 sporty for my good lady, but it was too heavy for her, so a good friend of mine, talked me into building my first ground up chop.
So, the 1999 1200 Sporster was stripped, and my good friend was off with the frame to hard tail it for me, in his shed. I'm not that good with a welder, but had to learn fast.
Back came the bare frame, and some new tools were purchased, ie, welder, bandsaw, power flie, and lots of stainless nuts and bolts.
Not to bore you to much with the details, over 10 mouths in the shed,a lot of hard graft, and with help from some local chop building fiends mine when I was in the shit, which was quite often, I managed to build my first ground up.
