Hi I just saw this bike and have to say it is a really nice bike. I have one I just started working on and was wondering about placement of battery box and electricals for a hard tail version of the 550. Anything would be much appreciated. Thank you.

Paul, way cool, a Cobra eh?
Dennis, Christmas is almost here. Ya never know what Santa might bring! Unless you were a badass like me, then a lumpa coal for you. Hell in these tough economic times, a lumpa coal could be good. You could heat the garage for an hour with it. In looking for pipes for our low buck garage-built 83 CM250C Bobber twin, I found cheap fishtail pipe extensions at JC Whitney to replace the mufflers.
Best of luck in your builds and best wishjes for Christmas and the New Year all!

thanks for the comments. i chose this bike , because the last bike my father had was a honda cb550 chopper , and i can remember how he used to love riding that bike. so basically i have reworked the whole bike , i will be posting more pics as progress goes on. im gonna paint the bike to replicate the cobra he flew in nam. i cant wait to finish it and see the look on his face. im very proud of my father and wanted to give him a welcome home he never got and also tribute to the 59,000 that lost there lives. there is more to come on this project.

Cool project Paul, and a salute to your Dad for his service in Vietnam. I'll bet you can hardly wait to see his face when you roll out the bike. We definitely want pics of it when done. rider75
